As a current member of Academia, I am more than familiar with that dreadful sinking some students experience in their stomachs at the mention of an essay. As grueling as the writing process seems, however, I cannot ignore the giddiness that floods over me after completing a piece of writing. I suppose Dorothy Parker and I share a similar perspective: "I hate writing, I love having written."
Unfortunately, as much as I want to help and as much as I would love to write perfectly--and teach others how to do so, of course--I cannot solve all essay woes. My goal here is simply to explain often ill-defined concepts in the realm of writing. Please note that in no way, shape or form do I claim to know how to write the perfect essay; neither do I claim that the techniques on the website are the only ways to write properly. Writing is an art form and I recognize that writing unconventionally can work and work well.
However, writing unconventionally rarely works without mastering the basics. This website provides a crash course in the fundamentals of essay writing. Like a child on a swing set, sometimes a writer just needs a little push to get started. Therefore, when a writers does not know where to begin, where to end and how to organize all of the thoughts in between, the tools on this website should help. I leave it to the writers to decide which techniques work best for them.
Navigate the page with the tabs at the top of the window, and, of course, enjoy!
